Singer-songwriter contest new this year at Green County Fair

MONROE — This year’s Green County Fair will be host to a Singer Songwriter Contest that will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at Toffler’s Pub & Grill, New Glarus.

How to enter: The initial entry/registration process will require contestants to complete the official 2019 Green County Fair Singer Songwriters Online Entry Form and submit the completed form to greencountyfair@tds.net. Eligible contestants can enter this contest until 11:59 p.m. June 16.

Contestant requirements: Submit a video singing one cover or one original song and a link to online music. Contestants are required to like the 2019 Green County Singer Songwriters Contest Facebook Page. Contestants must be 14 years of age or older as of the date of entry and reside within 150 miles of Green County as of March 18. One song is permitted per entry submission. Entries exceeding one song will only be judged by the first song submitted. No other person besides contestants can be depicted audibly in the music video. Both the music and lyrics must be fully performed by the contestant. A song that includes any lyrics, music or any prerecorded music performed by anyone other than the entrant (in whole or in part) will result in disqualification from this contest. 

The 2019 Green County Fair Singer Songwriters Contest Committee reserves the right to disqualify and/or edit, on a case by case basis), any song that contains any indecency, profanity, obscenity, explicit sexuality or lyrics that are harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, libelous, that encourages unlawful behavior, is hateful, or which is racially, ethnically or otherwise offensive or objectionable, as determined by 2019 Green County Fair Singer Songwriters Contest Committee and will be disqualified. Failure to submit all items as requested will result in disqualification. 

Eligble entries will be judged by the committee. Judges will score entries in their sole discretion based on lawful criteria. Judges will select eight entries to move to the finals. 

Finalists must confirm participation by email to: greencountyfair@tds.net by 5 p.m. June 18.  Failure to confirm will result in disqualification. Finalists must read, complete and electronically sign the release form included as attachment and present the completed and signed form to www.broadjam.com. 

The contest winner will play at the Green County Fair. Committee reserves the right to revise or replace contestant time based on available material.
