MONROE - The Monroe Arts Center's 20th anniversary Showcase of Talent will be held at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 1600 26th St.

This annual event showcases a wealth of talented individuals and groups in an evening of family entertainment, with favorite acts from the previous 19 years.

Emceed by Big Radio personality Dan Blum, the Showcase will be presented in the same vein as a radio-type variety show, complete with vocal and instrumental musical entertainment, comedy and more, with an on-stage house-band.

The house band includes musicians from the Monroe band, The Unusuals. They include Adam Bansley on rhythm guitar, Jon Koenig on guitar and percussion, Erik Madsen on drums, Steve Scheppele on keyboard and Scott Walters on bass guitar. Co-directors once again are Jackie Ceithamer and Tashona Smith. Saturday night's performance is scheduled for broadcast on Big Radio.
