LEJEUNE, N.C. - Marine Corps Pvt. Cheyenne R. Foster, daughter of Jennifer Foster, Monroe, was recently selected as the distinguished graduate from the Marine Corps Basic Combat Engineer Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C.
During the five-week course, Foster received instruction in the fundamentals of engineering support for combat units, including the procedures for building and repairing bridges, roads and field fortifications. Foster also learned the art of demolition, land mine warfare and camouflage techniques.
Foster is a 2011 graduate of Monroe High School, Monroe, and joined the Marine Corps in November 2011.
