BLANCHARDVILLE - Air Force Staff Sgt. Chad R. Crull has been deployed to Iraq to serve in support of Operation New Dawn, formerly Operation Iraqi Freedom, according to the U.S. Defense Department. The transition Crull is joining signifies a formal end to U.S. military combat operations in Iraq.
Operation New Dawn shifts the U.S. emphasis from predominantly military to predominately civilian as the U.S. officials assist Iraqis in accordance with the Strategic Framework Agreement.
Crull, a combat metals journeyman with four years of military service, is normally assigned to the 115th Fighter Wing at Truax Field in Madison. He is the son of David M. Crull of County Road F, Hollandale; and the brother of Chase E. Crull of Blanchardville.
Crull graduated in 2007 from Pecatonica High School.
