Senior center plans activities

MONROE - Behring Senior Center has several interesting classes scheduled for the next few months. All classes are for people age 55 and over and will be held at the senior center.

Healthy Eating for Successful Living is a six-week class that will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 10 through Feb. 14. Those participating will learn about nutrition and lifestyle changes that can promote better health. Preregistration is required by calling the ADRC office at 328-9499.

Three iPad classes are being offered for iPad owners only and they must bring their own iPads. Classes are limited to eight people. Call 325-3173 to reserve a spot.

The iPad Basics class will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 11. This class is for beginners who want to learn how to use the iPad.

The iPad Plus class will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 25 and is for those already familiar with using an iPad.

The iPad Photo Class will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 15. Participants will learn how to create pictures, albums and slide shows.

Trip participants must have all required paperwork filled out to sign up for day trips. A Trip Sign-Up Party will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 5. In case of closure of the center due to snow or other inclement weather, the event will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 12.

Architecture, History, Philosophy, and Literature is a class that will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 6 through March 22. Class size is limited to 15 people. Call 325-3173 to make a reservation.

An eight-week Human Growth and Development class will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 17 to June 7. Class size is limited to 15 people. Call 325-3173 to make a reservation.
