DARLINGTON - Lafayette County 4-H youth will celebrate the world of fashion at the 2009 Clothing Preview beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 11, in the Commercial Building at the Lafayette County Fairgrounds in Darlington.
Also new this year, the Style Show will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, in the Floral Hall at the fairgrounds. The Style Show is a chance for the youth to model the garments they have made.
The public is invited to both the Preview and the Style Show to view wonderful garments constructed by the youth.
The Clothing Preview provides an opportunity for Lafayette County's youth to model their beautiful garments. Nearly all of the garments at this year's Clothing Preview are hand-made by the participants, who are ages 8 to 18.
The Clothing Preview consists of three parts: the Preview Judging, the Style Show, and the Construction Judging.
In Preview judging, youth are judged on the complete look of the garment, how the garment fits, appropriateness of the garment for the participant, and how the participant has accessorized the garment.
In the construction category, the judge only considers the construction of the garment. The Style Show features all participants featuring their hand-made garments.
