DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Historical Society, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Historical Society, is celebrating Archives Month during the month of October with the theme "Scrapbook Wisconsin." LCHS will have on display a large collection of scrapbook gems compiled by Clara Chambers, Winifred Hoskins, Robert Wood, Katherine Hall, Mrs. Tom McCauley, J.J. Ryan, Jerry and Shirley Schwartz and others. The scrapbooks, dating from 1884 through 2009, tell some of the county's varied stories. Newspaper articles, obituaries and accounts of events from places such as Argyle, Darlington, Lamont, Seymour and Willow Springs are featured in the scrapbooks.

The Lafayette County Historical Society, 525 Main St., Darlington, is open from 1 to 4 p.m. daily including weekends. There is no admission fee. People interested in viewing the scrapbooks are invited. If anyone has scrapbooks they would like to donate, bring them to the historical society.
