Thousands of Scouts and Scouters arrive in Galena, Ill. for the Midwest’s biggest Scouting Event to take in a historic trail hike, visit Grant’s home and many other historic sites of national prominence.
The 2025 Grant Pilgrimage will be held on Saturday, April 26.
Take part in the fun activities and friendship of Scouting with Cub Scouts, Scouts/BSA, and Ventures from around the region.
Registration includes:
● Admission to the Pilgrimage
● Historical Museums
● Blacksmith Shop
● Civil War Encampment
● Grant’s Home
● Bucket Brigade
● Parade
● Trail Hike
● History Hunt
Cost is $29 for event registration or $39 for event plus camping/per person. However, registration and payment by Monday, March 31 to receive a $10 discount.
Multiple camping locations are available.
Registration at the Pilgrimage will be at the Galena Bible Arts and Recreation Center(ARC) – 11084 US Hwy 20 W Galena Ill.
Trading Post will be at Turner Hall, 115 Bench St., Galena, Ill.
Cub Activities will be at Grant Park. Participants can interact with impersonators of the original nine Generals of Galena, take in a Civil War skirmish on the banks of the Galena River as well as visit the Civil War encampment to see how soldiers lived. Other interesting sites and activities include numerous museums, shops, parks, patch trading, a blacksmith shop, a woodcarver, a potter, and fur trader.
