Linda and Paul Schmid of Monroe celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Oct. 7 with a private family gathering at their rural Monroe home.

The Schmids were married at St. John's United Church of Christ, Monroe, on Oct. 7, 1972.

The couple are the parents of two sons, Ron (fiancé Stacy Crackenberger), Madison, and Eric (fiancé Brittany Kuhn), Glendale.
