SARP to hold family prom event

MONROE - The Sexual Assault Recovery Program is holding a Family Prom from 6 to 9 p.m. May 12 at the Monroe American Legion, 1627 12th Ave. The event will include dancing, refreshments, a DJ, games and a silent auction.

There are minimal entrance fees for adults and children, with children 5 and under free. All the proceeds go back to the community by helping victims of sexual assault. Tickets can be purchased from any SARP advocate, by calling 325-3142 or emailing Kristy Schindler at cschindler@sarpwi.com or Hannah Chugg at hchugg@sarpwi.com. Corsages and boutonnieres may be ordered also.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. SARP is looking for volunteers, especially those who are interested in helping plan community events. Monetary donations monetary and supplies such as journals, crayons, notebooks, pencils and printer paper always are appreciated. SARP is grateful to Colony Brands for its monetary donation and donation of cheese tray and dessert tray for this fundraiser.
