MONROE — Amy Rowley, SSM Health Monroe Hospital Lab Support Technician, has been named the newest recipient of the BEE Award.

The BEE Award was created to recognize any non-nursing staff members who demonstrate excellent quality care, extraordinary compassion, focus on the patient and the patient’s needs and effective collaboration with other members on the patient care team.

Amy was nominated by Emergency Department nurse, Taylor Foecking.

“Amy approaches every task with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Her work ethic and enthusiasm are evident in the quality of her contributions, and she delivers results that exceed expectations,” Foecking wrote in her nomination. “One of the most striking moments that I experienced with Amy was a time when our emergency department team had a code. Amy is part of the laboratory team in our ED and was there in the room waiting for her role to take place in patient care to obtain labs. Some of our team members needed a replacement for CPR when their two-minute rotation was up. Without hesitation, Amy volunteered and continued to route in and out to perform high-quality CPR. It did not matter that her role in our emergency department was laboratory. She arrived in that room committed to serving anywhere she could.

“Her actions are a testament to herself as an individual and exceed all my expectations. I am confident that Amy will continue to inspire and lead by example, setting a standard for all of us to aspire to.”
