BLANCHARDVILLE - River Valley Trading Company, 204 S. Main St., is hosting its bi-monthly documentary docket at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19.

This week, "COMING HOME: E.F. Schumacher and the Reinvention of the Local Economy," will be shown.

For the last three decades, the E.F. Schumacher Society has transformed Schumacher's ideas into a series of practical innovations - reinventing much of the local economy of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and southern Berkshire County in the process.

Chris Bedford's new film, "COMING HOME: E.F. Schumacher and the Reinvention of the Local Economy" tells the story of the Society's work including, founding the nation's first CSA, economic development based on Community Land Trusts, and the creation of the nation's most successful local currency - BerkShares.

This film is suitable for audiences ranging from elected officials to Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs to high school and college classes and general audiences.

Chris Bedford makes films and videos designed to help communities build a sustainable economy - beginning with a local, healthy food system.

As an activist, Chris Bedford founded the Floyd Boulevard Local Foods Market in Sioux City, Iowa, and the Sweetwater Local Foods Market in Muskegon, Michigan. He is currently president of the Sweetwater market.
