Ribfest Competition to raise funds for hospice, domestic violence center

BELOIT - The eighth annual Ribfest Competition will take place Oct. 1 in support of Beloit Regional Hospice and the Beloit Domestic Violence Center.

Attendees can purchase four large rib samples and sides for $10 while listening to live music from Rock County group Don Collins and the Night Shift Band. All proceeds will benefit the Beloit Regional Hospice and the Beloit Domestic Violence Survivor Center.

A panel of celebrity judges will issue first-, second- and third-place awards to dishes, with other prizes such as the People's Choice Prize awarded throughout the event.

The Ribfest will take place at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 1 until all ribs are gone at The Rock on the River, 101 Maple Ave., Beloit. Attendance is free, and those interested in participating as a judge, contestant or volunteer can email brian@brianmarkfh.com.
