MONTICELLO — The Monticello Chamber held a ribbon cutting for the Sugar River Country Bakery on Sunday, March 5 at the business’s location, 209 Main Street in Monticello.

The day was also the day of their grand opening. Sugar River Country Bakery was established over 40 years ago by Glenn and Kathy Clark; they were some of the earliest vendors at the Dane County Farmers Market when it started 50 years ago.

In 2018, the Clarks asked if our family would be interested in taking over the bakery and new owners Andrew and Alex McNaught were honored to be the new owners.

The Bakery makes a large variety of cookies, scones, bars, breads, and pies all from scratch and sure to please any sweet tooth.
