BRODHEAD — The American Cancer Society is recruiting teams from businesses, schools, families, and places of worship to participate in the Relay For Life of Green County event. This year’s event will be held on Friday, Aug. 2 at the Jaycee Park in Brodhead from 5-9 p.m.
Relay For Life teams are committed to finishing the fight against cancer and raising funds to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission. Teams and individuals can sign up for the Relay For Life event by visiting https://tinyurl.com/34d824cp or by calling Jo Ann at 608-728-2980.
“The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all,” said Evelyn Crooks, Green County Relay For Life volunteer. “Many participants are our family, friends, and neighbors who have faced cancer themselves. Each new team that registers brings us one step closer to saving more lives.” During this event Honorary Cancer Survivor, Dan DeMuth, will be sharing his cancer journey story.
Relay For Life is a community-based family event. Cancer survivors and caregivers take a celebratory first lap to start each event. This year, Green County’s goal is to raise $20,000 to support the Society’s mission to finish the fight against cancer once and for all. Sign up individually or as a team and be a part of the event that helps support the fight against cancer.
