Registration open for MTG’s Day Camp for youth ages 10-18

MONROE — Registration is open for Monroe Theatre Guild’s Day Camps, which will take place Monday to Friday from August 1-6. Camps will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Performances by the campers will be Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Camper fee is $35 per camper for the week. Sponsorships are available upon request.

Campers will learn about props, set designs and builds, wardrobe, makeup, sound, lights, directing, theatre management, and acting. Selected teen participants will fill the roles of camp counselors and participate in all the camp activities.

The first four hours each day will be geared toward instruction, consisting of both verbal and hands-on instruction; with a lunch break at noon. Campers should bring a sack lunch. The last two hours each day will focus on preparing for the performances at the end of the week with skits and short plays produced, directed, staged and acted by the campers. Performances will be Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.

Register online by June 30. Walk-in registrations accepted at MTG, 910 16th Ave, Monroe  on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until June 30.
