MADISON — Wisconsin’s existing home sales hit a new record for the month of July, which increased prices by double digits, according to the most recent monthly analysis of the state housing market by the Wisconsin Realtors Association. Sales of existing homes rose 7.6% in July relative to that same month in 2019, and the median price rose to $226,400, which is 10.4% higher than July 2019. On a year-to-date basis, sales are now only slightly lower than this time last year, with sales in the first seven months of 2020 just 1.9% below the same period of 2019, and prices are up 8.4% to $213,000.
The median price for Green County decreased by 8.5% to $178,000 with home sales increasing by 20%.
The home sales for Lafayette County increased by 25% with the median price increasing 35.7% to $159,000.
