FREEPORT - The ninth annual Freeport Wheel-A-Thon, to raise awareness and funds for RAMP's services that empower people with disabilities in Stephenson County, will be held on Saturday, July 26. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The Wheel-A-Thon will start at the Gospel Outreach Church and Midtown Parking Lot located at 211 West Spring Street in downtown Freeport.

The Wheel-A-Thon is a disability awareness event that works much like a typical walk-a-thon in terms of participants, known as "wheelers," who raise pledges and complete a two mile course using a wheelchair through downtown Freeport. Participants who raise a minimum of $50 will receive an event T-shirt - raise additional funds and earn Magic Waters admission passes, McDonald's coupons, YMCA passes, 4 Season Bowling passes, Lindo Theatre movie passes and FS Fast Stop gas cards.

Proceeds from the Wheel-A-Thon benefit RAMP's Stephenson County Services provided out of the Freeport office. For more information, contact Connie Kraft, development associate, (815) 233-1128, wheelathon@rampcil.org or visit the event Web site: www.freeportwheelathon.kintera.org.
