THE CHILDREN of the late Mary Reuter recently discovered the last quilt made by their mother, who passed away in 2011.

DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical Society Museum is hosting a quilt show in the lower level community room, 525 Main St. The show will be open for two weeks from Oct. 19-30 during regular museum hours of Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. However, if weekday afternoons don’t fit your schedule please contact the museum at 608-776-8340. They will be happy to open evening or weekend hours to accommodate interested persons or groups.

The museum has had no cases of COVID-19 associated with staff or visitors. They encourage masks and social distancing — which is easy for an event that spans many days and hours. The side entry door will be open to the lower level for anyone that prefers to avoid stairs. The entire Museum is also open to enjoy. This is the perfect opportunity to see the recent changes and new exhibits.

The event will showcase the Historical Society’s collection of quilts from residents of Lafayette County, with the addition of a few beautiful quilts from area quilt guild members. The Historical Society is grateful for the expert advice and assistance of Pins and Pieces Quilt Shop. Refreshments will be served. Quilts, hot cider, what better way to celebrate fall?
