MONROE - The Monroe High School Students of Service Club is sponsoring the Prom for Pennies Event from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Monroe Theatre Guild, 910 16th Ave.
The event is open to all high school girls in Green County who are looking for a formal dress to wear to their proms. Numerous gently used dresses have been donated by area residents including 40 new dresses donated by The Bridal Boutique in Platteville.
Participants are asked to make a monetary donation to purchase the dress. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Green Haven Family Advocates in Monroe.
Dress donations are still needed for the event. Donations can be made by contacting Gail Eiserman, students of service advisor, at 608-328-7316. Dresses can be dropped off at the Monroe High School front office.
