MONROE - "Spark a Reaction" is the summer library program at Monroe Public Library for students entering sixth- through ninth-grade. "Spark a Reaction" runs six weeks from June 16 to Aug. 4.

Registration begins June 16; register online at www.

monroepubliclibrary.org or in person at the teen service desk. There is no cost to participate in the summer library programs.

Students are asked to read three books at their reading level or higher to challenge their reading skills. Each student will turn in three book reviews and receive three incentives of their choosing. There is a maximum of three reviews and three incentives. When a student reaches three reviews, their name goes into a drawing box for the grand prize of a $100 gift card. The winner will be announced Aug. 5.

Each week, a different activity or experiment is set up in the teen area. Students can try doing the activity and are able to take information home that will be out on the table by the teen desk. There is no registration to do the activity. Students come into the library when it is convenient for them. A new activity will begin each Monday.

For more information, visit the teen desk at Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., or call 608-328-7010.
