JUDA - A $5,000 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2016 Excellence Scholarship was presented to Megan Powers, a student in the Juda School District, at a recognition luncheon hosted by Herb Kohl.
Powers will attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall in the political science program. She is the daughter of Kevin and Laura Powers.
The Herb Kohl scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated academic potential, leadership, citizenship, community service, integrity and other talents. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has been recognizing educational excellence annually since 1990 by providing scholarships to graduating high school students throughout Wisconsin. This year, Herb Kohl increased the scholarship amount from the previous $3,000 per scholar to $5,000. Since it was established, the foundation has awarded $10.2 million to Wisconsin students, teachers and schools.
