MONROE - The Zilmer-Riley American Legion Post No. 84 and Auxiliary Unit No. 84 will host a Veterans Day Dinner on Wednesday for all area veterans who served and sacrificed for our nation.
Veterans Day recognizes veterans who have served in all major conflicts of the past century, from World War I and World War II to Korea, Vietnam, the 1991 Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Green County area veterans and families are invited to attend the tribute by Zilmer-Riley American Legion, 1627 12th Ave., Monroe.
A social hour will start at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. A veterans tribute "Passing on Your Legacy" will be presented by Behring Senior Center Executive Director Tammy Derrickson. The program will include honoring the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and remembering Green County veterans who sacrificed their lives during that era.
