BROWNTOWN - The Friends of Cadiz Springs broke ground recently to start Phase I of their playground installation project.

Over the past four years, FOCS held a number of fundraisers, including the February Snowshoe event, Spring Fling-Open Park Day Cook-out in June, and the Fall Fun Run-Trail Run event, to help raise proceeds for new playground equipment. The project became a reality through local public support and a couple of grants received through the state.

Those who are interested in making a final donation to the project can send a donations to: The Friends of Cadiz Springs, P.O. Box 36, Browntown, WI 53522. All donations are tax deductible. All donors will be recognized on a commemorative sign and ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for a later date. The following donation levels have been established to help recognize those who provided financial support:

• Owl - $100 to 499

• Crane - $500 to 999

• Osprey - $1,000 to $4,999

• Eagle - $5,000 or more

Other projects FOCS have been involved in include: The installation of a handicapped fishing pier and boat launch, installation of interpretive signs on the dike between Cadiz and Beckman's

lake, improvements to the beach area and annual park clean-ups.
