MONROE - Twenty-nine grants totaling more than $45,000 were awarded to nonprofit organizations serving the needs of the Monroe area. The grants were awarded from Monroe Fund, Reasa Charitable Fund, Dr. Fred W. and Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund, CLAIRE Scholarship Fund, Reasa Historic Preservation Fund, Robert B. Olson Investment Fund for Monroe High School and The Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund. The 2016 grants reception was held in the courtroom on the top floor of the Monroe courthouse. Refreshments were provided by Colony Brands and Mindy's Cupcakes.

A wide array of interests, including the arts, education, recreation, health care, human services, social services, historic preservation and housing needs, have benefited from these grants that assist Monroe residents in all age groups, from the very young to the young at heart.
