MONROE - "Music From Royal Weddings" is the theme for Midday Masterworks, an organ mini-recital that will be presented on Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St., and at 5:15 p.m. at St. Victor Church, 1760 14th St.

Organist Deborah Krauss Smith will play the program, which will include selections by J.S. Bach, Handel, Vaughan Williams and others, all from weddings of British royalty that took place in primarily Westminster Abbey. Recital attendees may recognize music that was played at their own weddings.

Midday Masterworks is a quarterly Wednesday noon-hour organ mini-recital series that was established in 2002 to feature the Monroe United Methodist Church's new 3-manual, 39-rank Berghaus organ. Midday Masterworks - Reprise, a repeat of the same program later in the day, was added in 2008 to showcase St. Victor Church's new hybrid combination of a Moller pipe and Rodgers digital organ.

The half-hour programs are free and open to the public. For more information, visit coldspringsroad.com/middaymasterworks.html.
