OREGON - Musicians of all ages, amateurs and professionals alike, playing piano accordions, concertinas, bandoneons, chromatic and electronic accordions, will gather from near and far to share their music and love of their instruments. The 30th annual Rudy Burkhalter Memorial Accordion Jamboree will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at the Performing Arts Center of the Oregon High School, 456 N. Perry Parkway, Oregon. Doors open and pre-event music begins at noon.
The Performing Arts Center comfortably seats 750 people, offers excellent acoustics and a state-of-the-art sound system. Accordionists will also be jamming in the school's common area. Sound equipment will be supplied for the performers. Accordions will also be on display for sale and viewing.
The jamboree is open to the general public and free, although a freewill offering is encouraged. Sandwiches, snacks, coffee and soft drinks will be available for purchase from the Oregon High School Band Booster's Club.
