ORANGEVILLE - The Orangeville Lions Club will present the program at the annual Firemen's Festival Thursday night to help celebrate Orangeville's 150th year of incorporation. The three-day celebration will be Thursday evening, Friday evening and a parade and other events throughout the day Saturday at the Orangeville Fire Station.
The feature event will be the Little Miss and Little Mister Ember Contest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Children from the Orangeville school district who are ages 5 through 8 are eligible. Two winners will be announced Friday evening prior to the band performances.
After the contest, 10 names will be drawn for a pie-eating contest; contestants must be at least 18 years old. The person eating the most pies will win a $50 gift certificate for five of Joann Kruse's pies.
Thursday evening will conclude with a style show of authentic and replica clothing from 1867 through the 1900s, with costumed people modeling as famous people from those periods.
