RED OAK - Ruth Babcock, wife of the Rev. Lyle Babcock of Richland Free Methodist Church, will turn 80 years old on Sunday, Sept. 21. She will be honored with a cake and punch reception at the conclusion of worship at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the church.
Ruth has served in many capacities from van driver to church secretary to substitute worship leader. She and her husband, Lyle, have been the pastoral couple at Richland Free Methodist Church for 46 1/2 years. He still pastors and Ruth, with the help of caregiver Pat Meighan, very seldom misses worship, even though she is now wheelchair bound.
Join in the celebration at Richland Free Methodist Church on Richland Road, between Scheider and Red Oak Roads, north Red Oak. Ruth would love to see those who rode the van with her in their youth or knew her in any of the many capacities that she served.
