DARLINGTON - The Natural Resources Conservation Service will host an Earth Day Celebration for Lafayette County youth from 9:30 a.m. to 2:46 p.m. Friday, April 19 at the Woodford Park.
This year's celebration includes 12 learning stations for fifth graders from Argyle, Belmont, Black Hawk, Cuba City, Darlington and Shullsburg school districts. The 12 stations have 60 presenters from various groups and agencies. Many stations offer hands-on learning for the students attending.
Topics include tree identification and management, wood utilization, sawmill demonstration, bat ecology and houses, fish lunkers, survivor - woodland edition, fishing and fish management, gun safety, Lafayette County history, water quality, call of the wild, archery and soil conservation and engineering.
