MONROE - The Monroe school board recognized the April recipient of the Monroe Lamp of Learning Staff Excellence award at its April 23 meeting.
Lisa DeMuth, a first-grade teacher at Northside Elementary School, won the honor.
Each month, a staff member is nominated and chosen for the award for "their exemplary pursuit of excellence in the education of our children," according to the Monroe school district's website. Administrators help select the winner.
