NGHS production of Big Fish delivers a captivating performance

New Glarus High School hosted the theater production of Big Fish March 14-16.

NEW GLARUS — The stage at New Glarus High School came alive on March 14-16 with an unforgettable production of Big Fish, a musical that left audiences mesmerized. Featuring a talented cast of high school students, the show captivated theatergoers with its heartwarming storytelling, dynamic performances, and stunning production elements.

Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film adaptation, Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a man with a penchant for spinning fantastical tales, and his son, Will, who seeks to uncover the truth behind his father’s larger-than-life stories. The musical is a touching exploration of love, family, and the power of storytelling, brought to life by an exceptional group of young performers.

The New Glarus High School cast delivered remarkable performances, with standout moments that had audiences laughing, crying, and applauding with enthusiasm.

The students’ dedication and hard work shone through in every aspect of the production, from the expertly choreographed musical numbers to the visually striking set designs and costumes.  Many were moved by the emotional depth of the story, enhanced by the actors’ passionate portrayals and the seamless direction of the production team.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our students for their incredible performances and commitment to bringing Big Fish to life,” said Amy Doefer, the director of the production. “This show is about imagination, love, and the stories we leave behind, and our students truly captured that spirit on stage.”

With its heartfelt message and dazzling execution, Big Fish at New Glarus High School was more than just a performance — it was an experience that will be remembered for years to come.
