NEW GLARUS — The New Glarus High School SkillsUSA Chapter proudly participated in the 52nd Annual State Leadership and Skills Conference (SLSC) on April 1st and 2nd, held at the Alliant Energy Center and Madison Area Technical College in Madison. The event brought together talented student leaders and skilled trades competitors from across the state.

New Glarus students showcased their talents in a wide range of competitions, including Carpentry, Woodworking, Entrepreneurship, and Promotional Bulletin Board Design. Their hard work and dedication were rewarded with outstanding results.

Two New Glarus High School students earned bronze medals in their respective categories:

●  Max Marty in Job Skill Demonstration

●  Claire Mondloch in Welding Sculpture

In addition to the competitive success, New Glarus also submitted Leah Missig as a candidate for a SkillsUSA State Officer position. A sophomore already demonstrating impressive leadership, Leah was elected by peers to serve as both the New Glarus Chapter President and the Wisconsin State SkillsUSA Secretary for the 2025—2026 school year.

“We are incredibly proud of all our students’ accomplishments at the conference,” said Advisor Tyler Bass. “They represented New Glarus with skill, leadership, and integrity, and we’re excited to see this young, driven group continue to grow in the coming year.”

SkillsUSA empowers students to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible American citizens. The strong showing from New Glarus High School reflects the district’s commitment to excellence in career and technical education.
