NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus High School math team 2015 won first place for the south division at the Capitol Conference Math Competition spring meet.

The top scorer and the top scorer for the south division was Sam Barr, who was attending her first math meet.

The varsity team finished the meet second overall amongst all twelve Capitol Conference schools.

Junior varsity took second in the south division with three-quarters of a team. The rules allow eight competitors for each team but the JV team had six participants. Kyle Fredrickson finished as the top scorer for the JV and has also placed as a bronze medalist in the national AMC exam this past winter.

The team has been practicing for the past several months, including practices during advisory and after school.
