NEW GLARUS - Puempel's Olde Tavern, New Glarus, is hosting a book signing with New Glarus author, Kim D. Tschudy, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19. Tschudy will be signing his most recent book, "The Swiss of New Glarus," which is an historical look at the Swiss community of New Glarus.
In addition to the book signing a photo exhibit of New Glarus area World War 2 Veterans will also be on display as well as a recently compiled New Glarus Civil War Veterans muster list during the time of the book signing. Puempel's Olde Tavern encourages people who have already purchased the book to bring them in and have them signed by the author.
Puempel's Olde Tavern is a historic tavern that was often the first stop for newly arrived immigrants from Switzerland. Numerous scenes from Puempel's Tavern are contained in "The Swiss of New Glarus." The interior of Puempel's Tavern is decorated with murals depicting Swiss history both in Switzerland and in America.
