NEW GLARUS - The 77th annual Wilhelm Tell play is set for Labor Day weekend.
On Aug. 30, events begin at 1 p.m. with the play beginning at 1:30 p.m. Food, including bratwursts, snacks and beer, will be available. The play will also run on Aug. 31 at the same time.
In addition to the play, there will be festivities downtown after the play. In the festival tent, located on 1st St., there will be the following events: "Lantern Zug," the children's lantern parade at 8 p.m. Aug. 29; "Dorf Kapelle" at 5 p.m. at the Fest Tent; a yodel concert at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Fest Tent; Art in the Park at 9 a.m. Aug. 30; a yodel showcase at the Fest Tent at 7 p.m. Aug. 30; a street dance with the Zweifel Brothers at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 31.
Friends of the Library will hold a book sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 31 at Village Hall.
