New Glarus Public Library partners with local artist group

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Public Library is featuring art by the local Driftless Area Artists through March 31 in the library display case. Art on display includes paintings, prints, pottery, a painted saw and a handmade book.

The library will be hosting an artist Meet-and-Greet in the New Glarus Village Hall community room from 4 to 7 p.m. March 24. Those attending can mingle with the artists, participate in make-and-take art projects and browse and purchase works by local artisans. The event is free and open to the public.

DAA artists participating in the March display are: Jeanne Ausmus, Sally Berray, Elaine Bethke, Renee Croushore, Roger Dorenden, Merry Dragovich, Green Chicks Studio artists, Kathy King, Jane Olson, Polly Prochaska, Joan Stackpole, Helen Stauffer and Mary Zierold.

Watch for more partnerships between the library and the DAA coming this summer, with art demonstrations and a possible plein air outing.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
