NEW GLARUS - The Friends of the New Glarus Woods State Park is sponsoring its annual Moonlight Night Hike during the full moon on the evening of March 22. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a bonfire at the Stone Grill Firepit. Park Manager Steve Johnston will provide a talk on owls and owl habitat in the woods, and then lead the walk through the woods to listen for owl calls as the owls continue their mating season. The program is open to the public and free; it will last until approximately 8 p.m.

Anyone interested in joining the Friends group and helping with the winter "Moonlight Night Hike" or other programs is welcome to attend a Friends meeting the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. somewhere in the park depending on the weather or they can contact Dunnell-Kendrick Parker, the president of Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park, at (608) 527-2335, www.newglaruswoods.org.

Parking is in the State Park, which requires either a daily admission sticker or an annual Wisconsin State Park sticker.
