NEW GLARUS - The Männerchor New Glarus will be observing the arrival of spring with a Maitag (May Day) Trachten Contest and Dinner starting at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at the New Glarus Hotel, downtown New Glarus.
Any traditional dress of European origin, not just Swiss, is eligible to be worn and entered in the contest.
The deadline for entries and dinner reservations is April 14. Checks should be made payable to the Männerchor New Glarus and mailed, along with completed entry forms, to P. O. Box 476, New Glarus, WI 53574.
The cost for the entire afternoon, including contestants' entry fee and dinner, or specatators' admission fee and dinner, is $20. For children 12 and under, the cost is $10.
