MONROE - The Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College is offering introductory computer classes starting in October in both the daytime and evening.
Basic Keyboarding is designed to assist with mastery of the keyboard speeding the ability to input data using the touch system. Participants learn the touch system for letters, numbers, and symbols while developing speed and accuracy in a non-threatening environment. The class starts Monday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays for 12 sessions.
Computer for Absolute Beginner offers exposure to the hardware, software, terminology, and functions of the personal computer. Students will learn about basic keyboard functions, how to use a mouse, and how to create a document. The class is scheduled to start Wednesday, Oct. 8, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for five sessions. Recommended Prerequisite: Basic keyboarding/typing skills.
Windows Basics will master your computer environment by learning to control and customize the computer to fit your needs. Participants will learn to create and manage files and folders, change screen and mouse settings and more. The class begins Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for five sessions. Recommended Prerequisite: Computer for Absolute Beginner or comparable experience.
