MONROE - A festive evening of holiday spirit continued after Main Street Monroe's Lighted Holiday Parade on Dec. 4, as nearly 200 youth visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus, made crafts, had treats and went home with a remembrance of the event.
The annual Santa Reception is sponsored by the Monroe Noon Optimist Club and was held in the beautifully decorated lobby of Wisconsin Bank & Trust. Dotty the Clown, aka Dotty the Christmas Elf, thrilled children of all ages with festive balloon sculptures of animals, characters from "Frozen" and more.
Monroe's Dairy Queen and Princesses added to the fairytale atmosphere as they made the rounds, sharing cheese samples donated by Green County Ag Chest.
Mary Soddy of Creative Photography photographed visitors who sat on Santa's lap to share their wish lists. When the families were ready to go home, they were provided with the photographs, compliments of the Noon Optimists.
The evening was capped off with sweet treats and take-home gifts donated by Colony Brands.
