Several Green County students were winners of 2008 Gold Cup trophies for piano at the Federation of Music Festival held in Janesville. The students auditioned in memorized piano solo and/or piano hymn playing. In order to qualify for a trophy, students must earn 15 points. Points are based on the successful performances of two memorized solos or hymns and annually range from one to five points. After earning one trophy, students may work for additional trophies.

• Piano solo, first trophy: Rachel Baird and Karly Placek;

• Piano solo, second trophy: Janean Boss, Reuben Arnold, Jessica Miller, Elliot Klar and Erica Hegi;

• Hymn playing, first trophy: Emma Calaway, Sarah Calaway, Rachele Thompson, Brooke Ostrander;

• Hymn playing, second trophy: Lindsey Buehler, Brianna Zimmerman;

• Hymn playing, third trophy: Reuben Arnold.
