MONROE - The Monroe Theatre Guild will present two popular holiday classics in December with the double feature "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus," directed by Katie McIlvanie, and "A Charlie Brown Christmas," directed by Jenny Moehn.
Join the studio audience of an old-time radio studio for "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus." Be there as Francis Church's famous answer in the New York Sun in 1897 comes to life.
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" will bring delight to children of all ages when Charlie Brown and friends explore the meaning of Christmas.
Shows are at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4, at 1 and 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and at 1 and 5 p.m. Dec. 6.
A Pre-Show Holiday Reception will be held Dec. 4 after the Christmas Parade before the show. MTG will help support the Christmas Stocking Fund with drawings for a chance to win holiday items that will be displayed in the MTG lobby during the run of the show. Entries for prizes begin Dec. 3, opening night. Drawings will take place before the start of the final show on Dec. 6.
