MONTICELLO - The new season of "Wisconsin Life" on Wisconsin Public Television offers plenty to get excited about. The season premiere introduces Monticello's Jimmy Voegeli - dairy farmer by day, blues musician by night - to learn about his farming roots and his band, The Jimmys.
All-new episodes of "Wisconsin Life" begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 on WPT and at 7:30 p.m. on Milwaukee PBS.
This year, the award-winning show has a new host to help guide the way. Angela Fitzgerald is joining "Wisconsin Life" for the series' fifth season this October, connecting viewers to what makes Wisconsin such a great place to live and explore. The program brings viewers closer to people whose passions, experiences and expertise celebrate the best of Wisconsin, introducing new stories from every corner of the state.
Other all-new profiles in the premiere include the work and life of Oshkosh artist Jon Wos and a pioneering Madison couple bringing radio to Spanish-speaking listeners. Fitzgerald will visit Green Bay's Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, and learn how to care for injured animals. Finally, author Michael Perry will share a personal tale about the fond memories often served up in the kitchen.
This season will see Fitzgerald taking center stage at American Players Theatre in Spring Green, exploring the vast Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, visiting Kenosha's Washington Park Velodrome and checking out some of Milwaukee's many outdoor murals. The rest of the "Wisconsin Life" team is just as well-traveled; the program finds and introduces unique and inspiring Wisconsinites from all corners of the state and from all walks of life.
