Monticello Legion post announces raffle winners

MONTICELLO - The Amstutz Marty Post #256 American Legion announced the winners of its raffle.

First-prize winner of the Henry Big Boy 357 Magnum rifle was Ben Miller, Monticello. Second-prize winner of the weekend at the Chalet Landhaus Inn, New Glarus, was Jeffery Thompson, Madison. The third-prize winner of the Gempeler's Pizza for a year package donated their prize to the Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop 106 due to living out of town. The fourth-prize winner of the regular-size quilt was awarded to Bryon Gillespie, Monticello. The fifth-prize winner of the crib quilt was Bill Kuenzi Jr., New Glarus. The sixth prize crocheted shawl went to Nancy Elmer, Monticello.

The raffle tickets were part of the celebration of the Monticello Legion's 95th anniversary. The post activities include building a legion building, building the large sign at the entrance by Lake Montesian and planting the Avenue of Trees leading into Monticello.
