WELLNESS CENTER UPDATE

●  A total of seven members are allowed per workout.

●  Members must sign up in advance for a workout.

●  Appointments are made on a weekly basis, starting on the Thursday prior to the following week.

●  Members can sign up for one session per day.

●  Face Masks are required.

●  Sessions are one hour.

●  Members can use cardio machines and weight machines.

●  We will be taking any new memberships starting on April 1, 2021.

INDOOR EXERCISE CLASSES ARE NOW AT THE BEHRING SENIOR CENTER FOR THE MONTH OF MAY  

We have a new Air Scrubber that will help provide proper air quality for our indoor classes. Class size limits, face masks, and social distancing will continue to be standard protocol until further notice. 

●  Mondays & Wednesdays: 

Men’s Exercise 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.

Balanced Yoga Revved up 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.

Balanced Yoga 11: to 11:45 a.m.

Afternoon Fitness 12:15 to 1:00 p.m.

●  Tuesdays & Thursdays: 

Zumba Early 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.

Zumba Late 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.

Yoga 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.

   

JUNE 1st through AUGUST 31st ARE THE OUTDOOR EXERCISE CLASSES.

These classes will be held outside at different locations throughout Monroe. All of the classes are drop-in, and you pay $3.00 for each drop-in session. We will also have punch cards again. At the Senior Center Parking Lot WEST will be: Active 4 Life, Balanced Yoga, Chair Pilates, and Men’s Exercise. Yoga will be held at Twining Park by North Shelter, Dance Aerobics (Zumba) at Twining Park Tennis Courts. Finally, Water Aerobics will be at Monroe Swimming Pool. 


CHAIR MASSAGE 

Dates: Fridays, May 7th & 21st, and June 11th & 25th.   

Times: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (20 minutes). There is a cost.

Melissa Kieler is a Massage Therapist at Healing Notes here in Monroe. You will pay Melissa directly the day of your appointment. She accepts cash or check. MASKS REQUIRED. If you need to cancel, please call  no later than Wednesday prior to your appointment so we can fill your spot with someone from our waiting list. Call (608) 325-3173 to schedule an appointment.


FOOT CARE WITH JULIE

Dates: Tuesdays, May 11, 18 & 25 and June 8, 15, & 22 are the appointments that are available for the next three months of the year 2021.  Julie does have dates set up for the whole year of 2021 for appointments. Please call 325-3173 to make your appointments now. If you need to cancel, please call us at least 24 hours in advance so we can fill your spot from our waiting list.

There is a cost.

Times: 8:00am to 4:00pm. Appointments are around 30 minutes.

Your feet will be soaked, your toenails will be clipped and your heels and other rough areas will be exfoliated. You’ll also get a mini leg & foot massage, as well as a refreshing lemon mist.  


2 golf outings are planned for May & June.       

●  Mini Golf is on Wednesday, May 26th at the Swissland Miniature golf in New Glarus at 10am. And the cost is $5.00. Limited to 20 people only, so please call to reserve your spot or for more information at 325-3173.

●  Ken Schindler’s Memorial Golf Outing is on Thursday, June 24th for 9AM shot gum Scramble. There is a cost for this activity. Call the Senior Center at 325-3173 for more information and to sign up soon! Many Categories and hole prizes.

   

Table Tennis

Table tennis (ping pong) is starting on May 3 and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. Players must wipe down paddles when done, one person has to wipe down the table in ping pong balls, and must wear face masks. 


Pool

Pool players get those pool sticks all chalked up and ready to go!

Starting on May 3 the pool room will be open for two sessions, Morning 9 a.m. to noon, and afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. Only four players at a time, and you must sign up at for your spot. Please call 325-3173 for more information about the requirements to play and when you can sign up.


Bingo & Flippo are also back at the Senior Center.

Bingo is Tuesday, May 18th at 1:00pm. This event will fill up quickly, so don’t wait to sign up.

Flippo will be at 1:30pm on Friday, May 28th. You must sign up at 325-3173 and you have to bring your own deck of cards.

Wellness week is May 10-16, 2021 and Bridget will be doing Live exercise classes.

●  Monday, May 10th at 9am will be YOGA.

●  Wednesday, May 12th at 9am is Fusion. Then at 11:00 there is Chair Yoga.

●  Friday, May 14 will be Morning Flow Yoga at 9:00am.

TAKE & MAKE CRAFT 

We have 3 craft kits to offer this month.

#1 Spring Picture. There is a cost.

We have spring sayings and lots of flowers & embellishments. It will make a fun piece to add to your spring décor or great Mother’s Day gift.

#2 String Art. There is a cost.

Have you wanted to learn how to do string art? We have some very simple kits to get you started. You get to choose from a Bird Pattern or a Butterfly pattern and colors of string. Kits will be available starting April 9.

#3 Succulent Garden. There is a cost.

We have another fun kit with succulents. This time we have galvanized pails with chalk boards on the front to add a cute message. Each kit includes a pail, dirt, rocks, three mini succulents and chalk. Kits will be available starting April 9.

#4 Gnome craft. This is a NO SEW project that is easy to create and they make great gift. There is a cost.


Behring Senior Center FACE MASKS!

We’re selling face masks for $10.00 each, and they will help cover the cost of programs and classes. They were printed at Heartland Graphics in Monroe. All masks are red with white lettering. They are super comfortable and easy to wash. Be sure to stop by to purchase your very own Behring Senior Center face mask!

You are welcome to pick-up your copy of “THE RED BRICK AGENDA” at the Behring Senior Center to get more information. They are found inside the Front Lobby door in a basket or in the Wellness Center just inside the door.
