Monroe: Tractor safety course slated

MONROE - The 2008 Green County tractor and machinery safety certification course begins on Tuesday, March 25, at the Government Services Building auditorium at Pleasant View Complex, located on Wisconsin 81 just north of Monroe.

The course is for youth 12 to 16 years of age (youth must turn 12 years old by the end of the course).

This is a 24-hour state and federal course. Participation in all classes is required. Sessions on March 27, April 10, 12, 17, 21 and 24 will be held outdoors, so dress accordingly.

Cost is $15 which covers cost of the manual, equipment use and insurance. Make checks payable to: UW-Extension, Green County.

Session times, dates and locations are as follows:

• 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, auditorium, Pleasant View Complex;

• 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 27, Sloan Implement, Monroe;

• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, Argyle High School Cafetorium -joint session with Lafayette County;

• 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 3, auditorium, Pleasant View Complex;

• 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 10, Sloan Implement, Monroe;

• 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, Juda Community Center, Juda;

• 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe (optional practice);

• 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe (mandatory practice);

• 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, Green County Fairgrounds, Monroe (final drive).
