Monroe resident to present at Quilt Expo

THE CHILDREN of the late Mary Reuter recently discovered the last quilt made by their mother, who passed away in 2011.

MADISON — The upcoming Quilt Expo in Madison, Wisconsin, planned for Sept. 5 to 7, will feature sessions led by an area resident renowned for her quilting and sewing expertise.

Hundreds of lectures, workshops and presentations at Quilt Expo provide an opportunity for quilters of all skill levels to acquire new ideas from leading educators. 

Mary Alice Hart, of Monroe, will present a one-hour lecture titled “From Photo to Fabric.”

The 15th annual Quilt Expo, presented by Wisconsin Public Television and Nancy Zieman Productions, runs Thursday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. An estimated 20,000 quilt lovers will attend.

Additional highlights include a 10-category quilt contest exhibit, a vendor mall with the latest sewing and quilting products from nearly 200 national and international vendors, a prize raffle and the opportunity to meet dozens of nationally known celebrity presenters.

Tickets are on sale now and attendees are encouraged to pre-register for lectures, workshops and evening events at quiltexpo.com.
