MONROE - The Youth Services Department of the Monroe Public Library is hosting the eighth annual Bug Day at the Library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Bug Day is an insect identification workshop for Monroe Middle School seventh grade students who have been collecting bugs for their science classes. Students are invited to bring their insect collections and drop by the library any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Teachers and other bug lovers will be on hand throughout the day to help budding entomologists identify their insects. A selection of insect identification books will be available for use during the workshop. Field guides and other resources may be checked out and taken home on Saturday after the workshop.
Students attending Bug Day will also have the opportunity to sample buggy snacks, enter a random prize drawing, and draw themselves as an insect in the giant bug jar.
For more information regarding Bug Day and other programs for families and children, contact the Children's Room at (608) 325-3016.
