Monroe native looks to start youth car club
car show

MONROE — Monroe native Tyler Schwartz is in the process of starting a nonprofit organization in Monroe called “CL Schwartz Youth Car Club.”

The club, named after Schwartz’s grandfather Clarence, who was a longtime service manager at Dearth, will be a group where high school age students can work on vintage cars. Schwartz said the group is in early stages and hopes to eventually obtain a facility where youth are able to take on a vintage project car and meet regularly.

The idea began about six years ago, Schwartz said, because he has several of his own car projects that are ongoing.

He said he has some potential board members and they are working out fundraising and nonprofit details.

Businesses and organizations looking to sponsor the group, and parents and youth who are interested in getting involved, can contact Schwartz at 608-214-7336.
